Budapest: During the official and friendly visit to Hungary led by Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia (NA), Hon. Lork Kheng, Chairwoman of NA Commission 8, and Hon. Nin Saphon, Chairwoman of NA Commission 9, held a working meeting with Hon. Zolt¡n Varga, Chairman of the Committee on Social Welfare of the Hungarian NA, and Hon. L¡szl³ L³r¡nt Keresztes, Chairman of the Committee on Sustainable Development. The meeting provided a platform for both sides to share experiences and exchange best practices in social welfare, public health services, social protection systems, sustainable development, and poverty reduction.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, both Cambodian and Hungarian parliamentary committees emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation and mutual learning to enhance parliamentary oversight and the formulation of effective, people-centered policies in these key areas.
The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to continue exchanging information and expertise through parliamentary dialogue, contributing to the promotion of social welfare and sustainable development in both countries.
For reference, Commission 8 is the Commission on Public Health, Social Affairs, Veterans, Youth Rehabilitation, Labour, Vocational Training, and Women’s Affairs, while Commission 9 is the Commission on Public Works, Transport, Civil Aviation, Posts, Telecommunications, Industry, Science, Technology, Innovation, Mines, Energy, Commerce, Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction.
