Cambodia, Vietnam to Further Strengthen Defence Ties

The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam have appreciated and vowed to further boost their good bilateral cooperation, particularly in the defence sector.

The commitment was underlined during a meeting between Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, and his Vietnamese counterpart H.E. Gen. Phan Van Giang, in Hanoi, Vietnam on May. 23, according to a press release of the Cambodian Ministry of National Defence.

Both defence ministers agreed to continue abiding by the spirit of the first ministerial-level Cambodia-Vietnam border defence exchange and working closely to further strengthen the ties of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two neighbouring nations, contributing to peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

They also touched on current developments in the region and the world and supported for the resolution to Myanmar issue, South China Sea issue, Russia-Ukraine war and so on.

Cambodia and Vietnam mark this year the 55th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.
