Cambodia, the ASEAN Chair in 2022, is planning to organise an ASEAN Global Dialogue on COVID-19.
The plan was shared by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, while receiving here at the Peace Palace this morning visiting H.E. Dato Lim Jock Hoi, Secretary-General of ASEAN, according to H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister.
The topic will be on Post-COVID-19 Comprehensive Recovery, underlined the Cambodian Premier, adding that key international actors such as the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, Asian Development Bank, World Trade Organisation, World Health Organisation … will be invited to the event.
For his part, the ASEAN secretary-general voiced his support for the organisation of the dialogue, pledging to work with the ASEAN Chair and other relevant parties for the success of this event.
This will be a major meeting before the ASEAN Summit and related Summits, said H.E. Dato Lim Jock Hoi, continuing that in 2021, the ASEAN economy grew by 2.3 percent and the figure was forecasted to reach 5.2 percent in 2022.
The ASEAN Global Dialogue was first organised in 2012 when Cambodia held the ASEAN chairmanship.
