Cambodia to Celebrate 21st Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Coronation Tomorrow

Kuala lumpur: Cambodia will solemnly celebrate the 21st Anniversary of the Coronation of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, on Oct. 29. Best wishes for His Majesty’s good health and longevity have been broadcast on national television and radio stations, and posted on social media platforms. The annual celebration is also being observed across the country by municipal and provincial administrations. A fireworks display will also take place in the evening to mark the occasion.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, last year, the celebration lasted for three days, featuring religious and blessing ceremonies as well as a mass gathering. His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni ascended the Throne on Oct. 29, 2004, by decision of the Council of the Throne, following the abdication of His Majesty the late King-Father Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk. To commemorate Coronation Day, Oct. 29 has been designated as a public holiday by the Royal Government of Cambodia for all civil servants, employees, and workers in the private sector.
