Cambodia-Thailand Joint Team Advances Border Survey and Temporary Marker Placement

Phnom penh: The Cambodia-Thailand Joint Survey Team has progressed in its efforts to conduct aerial drone photography to create photographic maps for the installation of temporary border markers between markers 42 and 47. This area spans Prey Chan and Chouk Chey villages in O’Bei Choan commune, O’Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province, Cambodia, and Khok Sung district, Sa Kaeo province, Thailand.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the team captured aerial images from November 19 to 24, 2025, covering the section between border posts 42 and 43. This effort encompassed approximately 5.3 kilometers, accounting for about 76 percent of the required area. The completion of the aerial photography is anticipated by November 26, 2025.

Starting November 27, 2025, both Cambodian and Thai teams will commence the installation of temporary markers between border posts 42 and 43, beginning at post 42. Following this accomplishment, the team will proceed to mark the remaining area from posts 43 to 47.

The current survey and temporary marker placement are aligned with the objectives set during the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) Meeting conducted on October 21-22, 2025.
