The labour market situation in Cambodia is strong, maintaining a high employment rate at around 99.3 percent, the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training pointed out at a press conference at the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit this morning.

Some 11 million Cambodians are employed both locally and abroad, the ministry’s report stated.

Of them, it continued, 2.5 million work in industry, 3.4 million in agriculture, 3.1 million in service, and 0.5 million others in public services.

The ministry added that there are about 1.3 million Cambodian migrant workers in Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia.
