Cambodia Ranks First in ASEAN for Ecotourism

Phnom Penh:Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet expressed appreciation on Friday for the country's achievement in being ranked first in ASEAN and 17th globally for ecotourism by US News and World Report.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Prime Minister issued an official directive through the Council of Ministers on October 8, recognizing the collaborative efforts that led to Cambodia's leading position in the latest global rankings by the US outlet.

Environment Minister H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth hailed this achievement as a historic milestone for Cambodia, emphasizing its significance on the international stage. He stated that this recognition follows a previous top ranking in 2026 by the same publication for environmental quality, land sustainability, and natural resources.

The Minister attributed Cambodia's success in ecological matters to the political stability and conservation policies established under former Prime Minister and current Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen. He also highlighted the current administration's commitment to a green agenda.

Under the leadership of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Cambodia has increased its emphasis on green economic policies, biodiversity preservation, and sustainable community development.
