Cambodia, Pakistan to Promote Cooperation in Potential Areas

AKP Phnom Penh, Cambodia and Pakistan will boost their bilateral cooperation in potential areas such as economy, trade, investment, and tourism.

The information was shared by H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, following the meeting between the Premier and visiting H.E. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, here at the Peace Palace this morning.

According to the assistant, the foreign ministers of Cambodia and Pakistan will discuss more about the issue.

In the courtesy meeting, H.E. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari congratulated Cambodia on the successful hosting of the 55th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (55th AMM) and Related Meetings.

The Pakistani top diplomat also invited Samdech Techo Hun Sen to pay an official visit to Pakistan and requested him to consider opening an embassy in Islamabad.

For his part, Samdech Techo Prime Minister thanked H.E. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for his participation in the 55th AMM and Related Meetings in Phnom Penh, saying that the meetings took place at a time of great tensions in the region and the world such as the Myanmar crisis, the South China Sea issue, the Russia-Ukraine war, and so on.

The Cambodian Premier accepted the invitation to visit Pakistan and responded positively to the request for consideration for the establishment of the Cambodian embassy in Islamabad.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also asked H.E. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to encourage Pakistani investors to study investment opportunities in Cambodia, particularly in the above-said sectors.
