Molnupiravir, a drug for COVID-19 treatment, has received an Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA) from the Royal Government of Cambodia.

The EUA certificate for Molnupiravir was signed on Nov. 3 by H.E. Prof. Mam Bunheng, Minister of Health of Cambodia.

Molnupiravir is an oral antiviral medicine for COVID-19 proven to be safe and highly effective, according to the certificate.

Relevant agencies are advised to follow up the use, report, and timely respond to adverse drug reactions, it added.

At the closing ceremony of the national COVID-19 vaccination campaign for those aged 6 years old and up on Monday, Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen said Cambodia had set aside US$2.5 million to buy a U.S.-made COVID-19 drug.
