Cambodia Grabs First Gold Medal from SEA Games 2023

Cambodia, the host country, earned the first medal of the 32nd SEA Games in Jiu-Jitsu’s Men’s Duo.

Kongmona Mithora and Touch Pikada got the gold medal after defeating their Thai counterparts at the final held here at Chroy Changvar International Convention and Exhibition Centre this afternoon.

Earlier, the two Cambodian Jiu-Jitsu fighters won over their opponents from the Philippines and Vietnam.

Jiu Jitsu competitions began this afternoon under the presidency of H.E. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports and Vice Chairman of Cambodian SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games Organising Committees (CAMSOC-CAMAPGOC).

Cambodia is confident to obtain another gold medal from Jiu-Jitsu by Miss Khan Jessa in the Ne-Waza GI-52 kg event, who will meet her counterpart from the Philippines in the final at 4:00 PM, after beating those from Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand in the same afternoon.
