Cambodia, Germany Sign Agreement on Waste Management Cooperation

The Ministry of Environment and the German development agency GIZ have signed an agreement on the project on ASEAN Municipal Solid Waste Management Enhancement (AMUSE).

The agreement was inked here on Sept. 7 between H.E Park Sokha Ravuth, Director General of Environmental Protection Department at the Ministry of Environment, and Dr. Günter W. Riethmacher and Mr. Frank Jattke, GIZ representatives.

The project, to be implemented in Siem Reap province until June 2025, aims to contribute to improving the environment quality in medium-size cities in ASEAN through capacity building and recycling of solid waste.

Similar projects will also be carried out in other ASEAN countries, including Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.
