Cambodia Earns US$500 Million from Bicycle Exports

Some US$514 million was generated from bicycle exports to international markets in the first ten months of this year, up 21 percent compared to the same period last year.

The figures were mentioned in a report of the Ministry of Commerce released during the annual meeting held here last week.

The report stated that the Kingdom’s bicycle markets were the U.S., Germany, UK, Japan, China, ASEAN, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Australia, Colombia, Korea, Spain, Italy and Canada.

Currently, there are five bicycle manufacturers, located in special economic zones in Svay Rieng southeastern province.

H.E. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce, said that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Cambodia’s exports remain strong. From January to November 2021, the total exports were valued at US$15,729 million.

Last year, Cambodia’s bicycle exports were amounted to US$520 million, a year-on-year increase of 27 percent.
