The Australian Ambassador to Cambodia has reaffirmed his country's commitment to foster legislative as well as parliamentary cooperation with Cambodia. H.E. Justin Kevin Whyatt underscored the commitment when received by the President of the Cambodian National Assembly (NA), Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, for a courtesy meeting at her office on Jan. 23. The Australian diplomat highlighted the good cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries within overall and particular frameworks such as the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF). On behalf of the Cambodian NA, Samdech Khuon Sudary expressed her firm support for the expansion of Cambodia-Australia cooperation resulting from the recent meeting between Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and H.E. Justin Kevin Whyatt. She also encouraged the ambassador to consider supporting the Cambodian NA's endeavour to become a digital parliament, especially in terms of technical support and human resource development. H.E. Justin Kevin Whyatt welcomed the request and spoke highly of Cambodia's transformation from a host country of the United Nations peacekeeping force into a nation that deploys forces for UN missions in other countries.
