Cambodia Attends the 3rd G77 Summit in Uganda

A Cambodian delegation led by H.E. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth, and Sports, attended the 3rd G77 Summit on Jan. 21-22 in Kampala, Uganda, under the theme of “Leaving No One Behind”.

The 3rd G77 Summit discussed the preparation of a strategic plan in response to challenges faced by G77 member countries, particularly in trade, technology, and sustainable development.

The meeting serves as a platform for member states to collectively exert effort and solid cooperation to foster the national economy and reduce poverty.

Addressing the event, H.E. Hang Chuon Naron appreciated the government of Uganda for its warm hospitality and congratulated the President of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, on his role as chair of the summit.

The minister reiterated Cambodia’s stand for continuous support for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted in 2015 and a global call to eradicate poverty, protect the planet, and promote a peaceful and prosp
erous world.

He also called on participating countries to use the power of science, technology, and innovation to build a prosperous, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future.
