Cambodia and UNDP Agree on New Tourism Development Projects


Phnom penh: The Ministry of Tourism and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have initiated new development projects in the tourism sector. The discussion took place at the ministry between H.E. Huot Hak, Cambodian Minister of Tourism, and Mr. Enrico Gaveglia, UNDP Resident Representative.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, UNDP praised the successful results of past cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and pledged continued support for future projects. The collaboration aims to enhance tourism development in a resilient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly manner, aligning with the priorities of the Royal Government.



H.E. Minister expressed gratitude to UNDP for its consistent support in promoting tourism development. The partnership emphasizes reducing plastic litter and developing sustainable eco-tourism, particularly in coastal areas.



Both parties reflected positively on their past collaboration and agreed to strengthen their strategic partnership through new agreements. These agreements focus on promoting sustainable tourism development and environmental preservation.
