Cambodia and UK Strengthen Economic Ties at Singapore Forum


Hanoi: H.E. Samheng Bora, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce, participated in the Cambodia-UK Trade and Investment Opportunities Forum at Eden Hall of the British High Commission Residence. The event, held on November 25, was presided over by H.E. Dominic Williams, British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Ms. Rihannon Harries, Deputy Trade Commissioner for Asia Pacific. The forum saw the participation of numerous representatives from relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions, including the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Cambodian Investment Board, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, alongside key private sector representatives.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the forum aimed to strengthen trade and investment relations between the UK and Cambodia. It sought to bring together various Cambodian ministries, development finance institutions, UK and Singapore-based investors, and key Cambodian private sector representatives. The objective was to explore practical collaboration opportunities in support of Cambodia’s sustainable growth agenda.



In his keynote address, H.E. Samheng Bora emphasized Cambodia’s strategy for export promotion and trade competitiveness. He highlighted the significant role of the Cambodia-UK Joint Trade and Investment Forum, which is scheduled for early next year. H.E. Bora also addressed the Royal Government of Cambodia’s efforts in trade diversification under multilateral, regional, and bilateral frameworks, as well as the enhancement of the business and investment environment.
