Brazilian Kun Khmer Fighter Granted Khmer Citizenship

Mr. Thiago Teixeira Machado, a Brazilian Kun Khmer Fighter, has been granted the Khmer citizenship, according to a royal decree signed on April 11 by His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.

Born on July 28, 1988 in Sao Paulo, the Federative Republic of Brazil, Mr. Thiago Teixeira Machado early this month represented Cambodia in the “Apex Fight Series” promotion in Germany and won the World Muay Thai Organisation Middleweight title, after he knocked out his British opponent, Joe Craven, in the second round.

His wife, Mrs. Roma Maria Rozanska-Steffen, Polish-born with American nationality, also obtained the Khmer citizenship along with her husband.

As a sign of encouragement to Mr. Thiago Teixeira Machado for bringing pride to the Cambodian nation, Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and Cambodian high-ranking officials as well as some other fans have given him cash rewards.
