Australia to Begin Uranium Exports to India for Nuclear Energy

Melbourne: Australia will export uranium to India for nuclear energy under an arrangement signed by Prime Ministers Anthony Albanese and Narendra Modi. Albanese stated that the agreement enables uranium exports to India for peaceful purposes, building on an existing nuclear cooperation agreement. This development took place during their meeting in Melbourne for the third annual Australia-India summit.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Albanese emphasized that the relationship between Australia and India has reached unprecedented strength. He highlighted the mutual focus on deepening and diversifying relations to facilitate further growth. Modi, who arrived in Melbourne for an official three-day visit, remarked that the nuclear energy agreement would provide new impetus to India's clean energy goals.

In addition to the uranium agreement, both leaders committed to enhancing security and cultural cooperation between the two nations.
