Australia Supports Cambodia’s Reform Agenda on State-owned Enterprises and State Asset Management

The Australian Government has supported Cambodia’s reform agenda on state-owned enterprises (SoE) and state asset management.

According to the Australian Embassy in Cambodia, Australia has recently hosted a study visit to Canberra for 18 representatives from Cambodia’s Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Public Financial Management Reform Steering Committee.

At Cambodia’s request, the visit aimed to assist Cambodia with preparing the draft Law on the Management of SoEs, and draft policy on state asset management.

Coordinated by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the delegation was able to learn from Australia’s diverse and relevant expertise and experiences across agencies including the Department of Finance, National Capital Authority, ACT Government, Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation and Icon Water.

‘We look forward to continuing Australia’s support for Cambodia’s reform priorities in line with our shared interests that benefit Cambodia’s economy and its people, building on
our longstanding bilateral partnership of seven decades,’ the embassy said.
