Another Cambodian Senior Official Receives Japan’s Decoration

H.E. Dr. Nao Thuok, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, was awarded with Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation.

The conferment ceremony took place here late last week at the Embassy of Japan in Phnom Penh.

According to the embassy, H.E. Dr. Nao Thuok has worked as an officer in charge of the fisheries sector, and been instrumental in implementing Japan’s various technical cooperation projects and consistently supported Japan’s position of sustainable utilisation of aquatic resources. For many years, he has used his experience in the fisheries sector to serve as a bridge between Japan and Cambodia.

Besides, Gen. YAMADA Yoshitaka, currently working as an advisor to the Royal Government of Cambodia, also received the same commendation. Thanks to his valuable efforts, a number of Self-Defense Force members have been dispatched to Cambodia and engaged in providing education about road maintenance, improvement and surveying.

In addition, Cambodians who have been trained by Japan have been dispatched to African countries and other countries as members of the Peacekeeping Forces and they are contributing to world peace.

On the occasion, Japanese Ambassador H.E. Mikami Masahiro expressed his deepest respect for their many achievements and wished them continued success in their future endeavours.
