Angkor Residents Hold Traditional Spiritual Ceremony to Pray for Rain

Angkor residents gathered for a traditional spiritual ceremony at Wat Athvea Temple on May 3, at the beginning of the rainy season to pray for enough rain.

According to the APSARA National Authority’s news release, the lives of the residents of Angkor are always associated with heritage.

This ceremony makes the Angkorian heritage inseparable from tangible (temple) and intangible (tradition) heritage, it added.

Every year the villagers always gather and celebrate the traditional spiritual ceremony to pray for enough rain and prosperity for the community where they live to avoid diseases at the beginning of the rainy season, said the source, stressing that this demonstrates how the residents of Angkor continue to preserve their culture.
