Air Cambodia’s New Route to Japan Enhances Tourism and Trade


Phnom penh: The national flag carrier, Air Cambodia, launched its scheduled flights between Cambodia and Japan via Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China, on Oct. 26, opening a new gateway for tourism, trade, and investment between the two countries. The inaugural event took place at Techo International Airport, attended by key dignitaries including H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism; H.E. Dr. Mao Havannall, Minister in charge of the Secretariat of State for Civil Aviation (SSCA); and H.E. UENO Atsushi, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, alongside SSCA management, airline representatives, and tour operators.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Huot Hak emphasized the significance of the new Phnom Penh-Tokyo flight, considering it a historic milestone that strengthens tourism, trade, and people-to-people connectivity between Cambodia and Japan. He expressed that the direct flight is expected to enhance travel convenience, increase Japanese tourist inflow, and foster cooperation opportunities.



He further stated that the Ministry of Tourism is committed to collaborating with the SSCA, Japanese partners, and airlines to promote tourism and improve direct flight services between the two nations, aiming for sustained growth in bilateral relations.
