Cambodia is expected to welcome 1.5 to 2 million international visitors this year, underlined recently H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism, highlighting a positive sign for Cambodian tourism recovery.

The new forecast is based on the growing trend of foreign tourist arrivals to Cambodia since the Kingdom’s reopening in November 2021.

According to H.E. Minister, during the first eight months of this year, a total of 998,272 international tourists visited Cambodia, up 720 percent compared to the same period in 2021.

Foreign arrivals by air increased by 595 percent, by land-waterway 831 percent to 396,591 and 601,681, respectively, he pointed out.

Thailand, Vietnam, China, the United States of America, Indonesia, France, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and Laos were the major tourism markets for Cambodia during the said period.
