A Big Aerial Bomb Found in Phnom Penh

An aerial bomb typed AN-M66 (AN-M34) with a total weight of 2,000 pounds (almost 1,000 Kg) was found in Phnom Penh today, said H.E. Heng Ratana, Director General of Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC).

It was discovered in Chaktomuk river nearby Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel, opposite the Royal Palace, he pointed out.

“If it was a case of explosion of this AN-M66 bomb, it could cause huge damages to hotels, houses or even the Royal Palace. This is one of great lucks for Cambodians,” he underlined.

CMAC bomb experts have closely worked with Phnom Penh’s governor to transport this bomb to a safe area for further action by CMAC, the director general added.
