Phnom penh: Approximately 5,000 observers will be deployed to monitor Cambodia's 2026 Upper Secondary School Examination (Baccalaureate), scheduled for August 10-11, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron announced on Thursday.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, speaking at a press conference on the upcoming national examination, stated that the Ministry has initiated technical meetings to prepare for the exam across all 25 capital and provincial administrations. The observers will be composed of representatives from the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), local authorities, and volunteers.

H.E. Minister emphasized that the involvement of these stakeholders will assist in ensuring a transparent and successful examination process. He noted that over the past 12 years, students' attitudes toward learning have significantly improved, with more candidates demonstrating dedication to their studies.

The written examinations are set to take place on August 10-11, followed by the marking process from August 13-19. Score processing and verification will occur from August 20-30, and the results will be printed on September 1, with an official nationwide announcement on September 2.

A total of 151,238 candidates, including 84,735 females, have registered for the examination. Of these, 37,445 candidates (22,193 females) are enrolled in the science stream, while 113,793 candidates (62,542 females) are taking the social science stream.
