32nd SEA Games: Kun Khmer Kicks-Started

Kun Khmer at the 32nd SEA Games hosted by Cambodia was kicked started this afternoon at Morodok Elephant Hall 1, Morodok Techo National Stadium, Phnom Penh.

H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the Cambodian SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games Organising Committee (CAMSOC-CAMAPGOC), presided over the opening ceremony of Kun Khmer tournament.

There are two events for today's tournament, including women's Kun Krou and Fighting.

Kun Khmer will have 19 events including 11 weight-categories for men, 6 weight-categories for women, and men and women Kun Khmer.

Participating countries include host Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, and Malaysia.

Some 25 sports coemptions are on today's programme-Boxing, Football, Kun Khmer, Kun Bokator, Pencak Silat, Sailing, Hockey, Volleyball, Jiu-Jitsu, Athletics, Obstacle Race, Triathlon, Cricket, Ouk Chaktrang (Chess), E-sports, Karate, Soft Tennis, Petanquue, Vovinam, Swimming, Mountain Bike, Basketball, Sepak Takraw and Teqball.

Regional athletes are set to compete in 37 sports with 581 events – 304 for men, 229 for women and 48 mixed – at the SEA Games 2023 being held in Cambodia from May 5 to 17.
