1.26 Million Tourists Registered during Pchum Ben Holiday

Some 1.26 million tourists travelled during the three-day Pchum Ben holiday (Sept. 24-26), 89.43 percent increase compared to the same period last year, the Ministry of Tourism said in a report.

Of the total number, 14,479 were domestic foreign tourists, stated the ministry, stressing that Battambang, Siem Reap, and Kep provinces were the most visited destinations.

H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism, underlined that successful control of Covid-19 pandemic pushed the significant turn out of tourists during the holiday.

“The flow of visitors on the occasion of Pchum Ben Festival this year was very active compared to 2021, as the Royal Government of Cambodia has allowed all kinds of entertainment at all tourism resorts, and people can celebrate religious activities at pagodas without restrictions,” he said.
