H.R.H. Prince Norodom Sirivudh, Former Deputy Prime Minister and High Privy Counsellor of His Majesty the King of Cambodia, has received the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun of Japan.
H.R.H. Prince Norodom Sirivudh was among the 142 foreign recipients of the 2019 Spring Conferment of Decorations announced on May 21, 2019 by the Cabinet Office of the Government of Japan, pointed out a press release of the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia AKP received this afternoon.
The conferment is in recognition of His Royal Highness's contribution to strengthening relationship and friendship between Japan and Cambodia, it underlined.
According to the same source, since the year 1993 when H.R.H. Prince Norodom Sirivudh was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister, His Royal Highness has contributed to the bilateral relationship as not only Deputy Prime Minister, but also as High Privy Counsellor of His Majesty the King of Cambodia, as well as the founder of Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace (CICP).
Our two countries enjoy 'Strategic Partnership' nowadays due to His Royal Highness's constant devotion to our relationship, underlined the press release.
