Cambodia and Myanmar have lauded their military cooperation so far and vowed to continue fostering the collaboration for their mutual interest.
The satisfaction was underlined by H.E. General Hun Manet, Deputy Commander-In-Chief of Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) and Commander of Royal Cambodian Army, and Brigadier General Win Ko Ko, outgoing Military Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Phnom Penh, during their farewell meeting here yesterday.
Brigadier General Win Ko Ko thanked RCAF for its support for the success of his mission in Cambodia and expressed his gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) for its donation in facemasks and other medical supplies to Myanmar. He also spoke highly of the RGC’s effective efforts in preventing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, as well as in developing of the nation in all areas.
In reply, H.E. General Hun Manet extended his sincere condolences to the Government of Myanmar for the loss of lives due to COVID-19. Cambodia is working to educate and encourage people to participate in preventing large-scale community transmission, he added.
H.E. Gen. Hun Manet congratulated Myanmar Army on hosting the ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting (ACAMM), ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM), ASEAN Army Sergeant Majors Annual Meeting (ASMAM), and ASEAN Armies Information Sharing Workshop (AAISW) in 2021.
This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Cambodia and Myanmar.
