Cambodia has hosted a meeting of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI)'s working groups � Financial Inclusion Strategy (FIS) Peer Learning Group and Global Standards Proportionality (GSP) Working Group.
Taking place from April 24 to 27 in Siem Reap province, the meeting intends to prepare policies to promote Cambodia's financial inclusion and financial service access in rural areas.
H.E. Chea Chanto, Governor of National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), underlined that this is the first time for AFI to organise its meeting in Cambodia,
The meeting attracted participation from senior government officials, as well as representatives of development partners, UN agencies and research institutions from 43 countries.
He was positive that the meeting will contribute significantly to boosting Cambodia's economic growth and financial stability.
Available figure from FinScope in 2015 indicated that 59 percent of Cambodian adult population are using financial services, H.E. Chea Chanto added.
