Cambodia Attends UN Environment Assembly in Africa

The Cambodian delegation led by Secretary of State for Environment H.E. Sabu Ozano attended the UN Environment Assembly in Nairobi, Kenya, from Dec. 4 to 6, 2017 under the overarching theme of pollution.

According to the Ministry of Environment's news release, this was one of the world's highest-level decision-making body meeting on the environment.

Speaking at the meeting, H.E. Sabu Ozano reaffirmed to Royal Government of Cambodia's stance on the pollution prevention and chemical waste management as well as the efforts to promote the people's welfare in accordance with the National Policy on Green Growth, National Environmental Strategy and Action Plan, Environment and Natural Resources Code, etc.

The UN Environment Assembly has the universal membership of all 193 UN Member States and the full involvement of UN organisations, specialised agencies, inter-governmental organisations, civil society and private sector. In bringing together these varied communities, the Assembly provides a ground breaking platform for leadership on global environmental policy.
