73 Cambodian Blue Helmet Troops Dispatched to South Sudan

Cambodia has dispatched 73 blue helmet troops, eleven of them are women, for peace keeping mission under United Nations umbrella in the Republic of South Sudan.

The Cambodian peace keepers were leaving for a one-year mission in the African country, said Director General of the National Centre for Peacekeeping Forces, Mine and ERW Clearance Lieutenant-General Sem Sovanny when seeing them off at Phnom Penh International Airport recently.

Since 2006, Cambodia has sent a total of 6,287 military forces � 315 of them are women � for UN peace keeping missions, he added.
