18th Coronavirus-related Death Case Registered in Cambodia

Cambodia has recorded the 18th fatal case of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
A press release of the Ministry of Health issued this evening showed that the new victim is a 29-year-old Cambodian man living in Sangkat Wat Phnom, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh.
He was admitted to the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in the capital on April 1, and passed away on the same day, at 16:10, due to severe acute respiratory crisis and severe pneumonia infected by COVID-19, after an unsuccessful all-out effort to save him, said the same source.
The Ministry of Health expressed its deepest sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
The first coronavirus-related death in Cambodia was reported on Mar. 11, 2021.
Threat of COVID-19 is recurring in Cambodia following the outbreak of the Feb. 20 Community Event.
As of this morning, Cambodia’s COVID-19 tally reached 2,546, of which 1,256 have successfully recovered.
