The Punjab Healthcare Commission on Wednesday sealed seventeen operation theatres of three hospitals in the city due to unsatisfactory sterilization arrangements.
The PHC inspection teams have sealed 11 operation theatres at Mayo hospital, three at Jinnah Hospital and two at Farooq Hospital, Wahdat Road.
According to a PHC spokesperson, the operation theatres have been closed due to non-conformance with the Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS) prescribed by the Commission. In violation of the MSDS, the hospitals could not produce laboratory reports indicating absence of germs or bacteria at the operation theatres.
