Two Cambodian senior higher education leaders are awarded with the Japanese Foreign Minister's Commendations for their activities, said a press release from Japanese Embassy in Cambodia issued yesterday.
They are H.E. Dr. Chet Chealy, Rector of the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) and H.E. Dr. Hor Peng, Rector of the National University of Management (NUM), it pointed out.
According to the same source, H.E. Dr. Chet Chealy has contributed as the Rector of RUPP for promoting academic exchanges between the RUPP and many Japanese universities. At present, the RUPP has exchange activities with 33 Japanese universities under the MoU signed with each university.
On the other hand, it added, H.E. Dr. Hor Peng supported as the Dean of the Faculty of Public Administration of the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE) for the establishment and smooth operation of the Centre of Japanese Law of the Nagoya University in RULE. He has also contributed as the Rector of NUM for promoting the academic exchanges between the NUM and Japanese universities.
Foreign Minister's Commendations are awarded to any individuals and groups with outstanding achievement in international fields, to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and areas, said the press release.
