The 19th Annual Memorial Day Commemoration to honor the young men from Jersey City who died as a result of the Vietnam War and those who died from war related causes after they returned home took place at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Pershing Field in Jersey City on Monday, May 25, 2015. City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill says that Tonnelle Avenue, a major north-south roadway in Hudson County, remains shut in both directions at Manhattan Avenue in Jersey City heading north.
County Road, which begins in Jersey City and ends in Secaucus, is also flooded out, she said.
Tonnelle Avenue will remain closed until the water subsides, Morrill said.
Fish House Road in Kearny has also flooded out, according to police radio transmissions.
