Senior VPA Officer Pays Courtesy Call on Cambodian PM

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received here yesterday afternoon at the Peace Palace visiting Sen. Lt. Gen. Luong Cuong, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and Director of the General Department of Politics of Vietnam People's Army (VPA).

On the occasion, Sen. Lt. Gen. Luong Cuong conveyed greetings and congratulations from the Vietnamese Prime Minister to Samdech Techo Hun Sen for his party's landslide victory in the July 29 National Election and his reelection as the Prime Minister of Cambodia, according to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian Premier.

Gen. Luong Cuong also briefed Samdech Techo Hun Sen on the outcomes of his meetings with Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, and H.E. Gen. Neang Phat, Secretary of State for National Defence as well as of his visit to Brigade No. 70.

For his part, Samdech Techo Prime Minister expressed his condolences over the loss of Vietnamese President H.E. Tran Dai Quang and thanked his Vietnamese counterpart for the warm congratulations.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked Sen. Lt. Gen. Luong Cuong for his report on his visit in Cambodia and encouraged both countries' military sector to further enhance their existing cooperation. He also expressed his gratitude to Vietnam for its support for the progress of Cambodia.
