Public Bus Service, Free during Khmer New Year

Public bus service in Phnom Penh and to some provinces will be free during the upcoming Khmer Traditional New Year, announced yesterday Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.

I'd like to officially announce today (April 1, 2018) that from April 12 to 18, 2018, all citizens can have access to free-of-charge bus service in Phnom Penh and from the capital to the provinces along the National Road No. 5 (Kampong Chhnang, Pursat, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey) and to those along the National Road No. 1 (Kandal, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng), the premier underlined on his Facebook page.

Sixty (60) city buses of Phnom Penh Municipality with Phnom Penh Capital label are ready to provide the service for passengers during the above-mentioned period, he added.

On the same day, Phnom Penh Municipality issued an announcement over three locations where people can take the free bus service: on 60 Metre Blvd. in front of Mercedes Benz company for those who want to go to Kandal, Prey Veng and Svay Rieng; at Russey Keo Bus Stop (new Freedom Park) and at the crossroads between National Road No. 4 and Win-Win Blvd. (Kob Srov) for those who want to go to Kampong Chhnang, Pursat, Battambang and Banteay Meanchey
