PM Sends a Message to Journalists on 5th Anniversary of Their Gathering

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen yeterday sent a message to all media practitioners to mark the 5th anniversary of the annual gathering between the Premier and the journalists.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen has planned to preside over the get-together with the spokespersons and media practitioners today, but it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his four-page message, the Prime Minister noted the important role of media in contribution to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and re-appealed to all media outlets and journalists to join hands in the fight by disseminating educational information and safety measures of the Ministry of Health to the people so that they understand and participate in preventing and eliminating the spread of this disease.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also called on them to combat fake news which he said is spread faster that the COVID-19 pandemic by disseminating real information.

“I have previously said that COVID-19 is a deadly infectious disease, but the spread of information pollution is more vicious than COVID-19, which requires the Royal Government to take necessary action in order to defend people’s happiness and maintain peace and development in Cambodia,” he underlined.
The Premier also expressed his appreciation for the media and journalists for their efforts to disseminate accurate information on COVID-19 and the developments in Cambodia, as well as in the region and the world.
