Over 100 Chinese Investors Exploring Investment Opportunities in Cambodia

More than 100 investors from Sichuan province of the People's Republic of China have attended a forum in Cambodia to learn about the country's context and explore investment opportunities.

Taking place at Hotel Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra early this week, the trade forum was co-chaired by Secretary of State for Commerce H.E. Chhuon Dara and Vice Governor of Sichuan Provincial People's Government Mr. Zhu Hexin.

H.E. Chhuon Dara warmly welcomed the visiting investors and echoed the Royal Government of Cambodia's free-market policy for investment.

Mr. Zhu Hexin appreciated the rapid progress in Cambodia and the country's kind hospitality as well as encouraging policy for international investment.

China has been one of Cambodia's biggest investment partners - thanks to long-standing and intimate relationship between the two nations.

In 2016, the trade volume between Cambodia and Sichuan province alone was some US$37 million. Almost 10 companies from Sichuan have been investing about US$43 million in different areas in Cambodia.
