AKP Phnom Penh,This year's high school exam was held smoothly despite some minor problems and heavy rain in some provinces, affirmed the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) in a press release made public yesterday.
In total, 113,369 of the 115,268 registered candidates sat for the two-day (Aug. 20-21) exam taking place in 196 exam centres of 4,655 rooms throughout the country, pointed out the press release, adding that 64 candidates had health problems during the exam and five of them were hospitalised.
MoEYS thanked local authorities, observers from the Anti-Corruption Unit and the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), competent authorities, health officers and other relevant parties for their good cooperation.
The results are expected to be released on Sept. 11 for Phnom Penh capital and Kandal province, and on Sept. 12 for other provinces.
During last year's exam, held on Aug. 21-22, a total of 63,668 out of 99,728 high school students who were present during the exam sessions, or 63.84 percent, obtained their baccalaureate. Among those successful students, 424 got grade A; 2,464 grade B; 5,000 grade C; 9,123 grade D; and 46,657 grade E.
