A total of 132 projects have been approved as the First Batch of Projects of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Special Fund 2017, according to Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.
At the opening ceremony of the 2nd Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Leaders' Meeting at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh this afternoon, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said at the 3rd LMC Foreign Ministers' Meeting held last month in Dali, China, 132 projects have been approved as the First Batch of Projects of LMC Special Fund 2017 and another list of Projects of LMC Special Fund with 214 projects has been submitted for our evaluation.
Clearly, he added, this is one of the most tangible and defining characteristic of the MLC being a Project/Cooperation-Based Mechanism, and not a mere Talk Shop.
LMC was launched in 2015, and its first leaders' meeting took place in March 2016 in the Chinese province of Hainan. This summit was based on three pillars political and security issues, economic and sustainable development and socio-cultural issues.
