The free bus service during the forthcoming Khmer Traditional New Year will be expanded to other provinces beside those on the National Roads No. 1 and 5.
The expansion was announced this morning by Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen on his official Facebook page.
According to the Premier, the new routes include National Road (NR) No. 3 from Choam Chao to Kampot province, NR4 from Choam Chao to Kampong Speu and Preah Sihanouk provinces, and NR6 from Phnom Penh to Kampong Thom and Siem Reap provinces.
On Sunday, Samdech Techo Prime Minister announced that between April 12 to 18, 2018, all citizens can have access to free-of-charge bus service in Phnom Penh and from the capital to the provinces along NR5 (Kampong Chhnang, Pursat, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey) and to those along NR 1 (Kandal, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng).
There will be also free bus service during the Pchum Ben Festival or the Festival for the Dead in October, added Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
