Sewing Seeds of Love Prior to ‘Race to Hong Kong ICC’
HONG KONG, Nov. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Over 200 Hong Kong Girl Guides have taken part in the ‘Sewing Seeds of Love’, which is part of the upcoming ‘SHKP Vertical Run for Charity — Race to Hong Kong ICC’, at the tallest building in Hong Kong — International Commerce Centre (ICC) today. The activity started from the eighth floor of the ICC where the participated Girl Guides connected pieces of colorful crochets all the way to sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck located on the 100th floor of the building. The knitfitti, which covers 82 floors with a length of 631 meters, has become the tallest knitted handrail in the city, bringing positive vibes to the vertical runners and promoting the message of love to the community.
Over 200 Hong Kong Girl Guides take part in the ‘Sewing Seeds of Love’ event at the tallest building in Hong Kong — International Commerce Centre (ICC).
After the activity, the Girl Guides will transform the knitfitti into beautiful scarfs and shawls and distribute to the elderly and the needy during winter this year, conveying the message of love and care in our city. This community activity sets to raise public awareness on healthiness while calling for support and care to the needy, a spirit embraced by the passionate runners of the ‘Race to Hong Kong ICC’.
To be held on 7 December 2014 at the International Commerce Centre, the ‘Race to Hong Kong ICC’ is organized by SHKP and co-organized by The Community Chest of Hong Kong, with this charitable sporting event aims to promote healthy living in the community. The race will once again be the grand finale of this year’s Vertical World Circuit (VWC). Apart from the ‘Individual’, ‘Relay’ and ‘Fun Climb’ categories, there will also be international elite runners competing for the Championship title of the VWC at this race in Hong Kong.
