Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn and visiting Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to ASEAN H.E. Kim Young-chae have exchanged appreciation and looked forward to more intimate cooperation.
In the meeting taking place recently here in Phnom Penh, H.E. Kim Young-chae, newly appointed to his role, spoke highly of Cambodia's rapid economic growth for the last two decades.
The Korean regional diplomat appreciated Cambodia's active role as a coordinator for ASEAN-Korea dialogue so far, and thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia that helps promote cooperation between ASEAN and Korea as well as Cambodia and Korea under the ASEAN framework.
He also thanked Cambodia for supporting the Korean president's request to hold an ASEAN-Korea Summit in 2019.
From his end, H.E. Prak Sokhonn congratulated H.E. Kim Young-chae's new role, and appreciated his commitment to bolster multi-level collaboration.
The senior minister appreciated Korea's committed assistance to construct a Cambodia-Korea friendship bridge crossing the Mekong River � the proposal brought up by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.
Cambodia is ready to welcome the forthcoming visit of the Korean president to the country, added H.E. Prak Sokhonn stressing that the visit is a milestone contributing positively to strengthening friendship, solidarity and collaboration between the two nations.
