Local executors of active businesses and advisor to the Royal Government of Cambodia have observed encouraging rise of Japanese investors to Cambodia, according to local media report.
The report quoted Dr. In Channy, President and Group Managing Director of ACLEDA Bank Plc. sharing that the number of Japanese private groups having transactions with the bank has increased to around 1,000 almost 300 of them are major companies.
Chairwoman of Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone Plc (PPSEZ) Oknha Lim Chhiv Ho, as cited in the source, claimed that more than half of 84 firms investing in her area are from Japan.
To the business executors, increasing trend of Japan's investment in Cambodia understandably implies believable legal, commercial and social environment in Cambodia.
H.E. Mey Kalyan, a Senior Advisor to the Supreme Economic Council of Cambodia, also re-confirmed the tendency in the source.
The Royal Government of Cambodia, added the advisor, has been improving investment climate in the country. Although the number of major Japanese companies remains low, it is positive that the figure will increase in the future, especially when the reform is up to its speed.
