Visiting delegation from EU-ASEAN Business Council led by Mr. Arnaud Darc, Chairman of European Chamber of Commerce (EuroCham), expressed the interest in exploring trade and investment opportunities in Cambodia and promoting European trade and investment in the region.
According to a news release of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), the delegation was received by Acting Minister of Commerce H.E. Tauch Chan Kosal, at the ministry office yesterday.
H.E. Tauch Chan Kosal highlighted investment opportunities within infrastructure development related to road networks, railway development, activities to improve the infrastructure of waterway/maritime transport and ports, traffic management systems in Phnom Penh and short-medium-long term infrastructure development by 2023.
The acting minister also updated the delegation about the formulation of the logistics master plan, online vehicle registration and inspection systems, promotion of E-Government and the IT platform linking MPWT, the Customs, General Department of Taxation and the Ministry of Interior to facilitate vehicle registration and ownership transfer.
The delegation expressed their interests in supporting Cambodia's development by focusing on transport services and the strategic development plan to connect Sihanoukville to the islands to attract more tourists.
