H.E. Pan Sorasak, Cambodian Minister of Commerce, received here yesterday new President of the European Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (EuroCham) Mr. Tassilo Brinzer to discuss the strengthening and expansion of cooperation between the two sides.
On the occasion, H.E. Minister recalled the good cooperation between the Ministry of Commerce and EuroCham and briefed his guest on newly approved laws such as E-commerce Law, Consumer Protection Law, and the elaboration of competition draft law.
H.E. Pan Sorasak also informed the new EuroCham president of the recently signed Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and the FTA negotiations with the Republic of Korea and other key partner countries.
The minister also encouraged EuroCham to participate in trade fairs and business meetings with Cambodian businessmen and asked EuroCham to take part in organising trade forums during the 13th Asia-Europe Summit (ASEM) in Cambodia.
In reply, Mr. Tassilo Brinzer accepted the request and welcomed the adoption of the above-mentioned laws, stressing that they will form a basis for ensuring businessmen’s confidence on Cambodia.
