Cambodian PM Receives Delegation of Japan’s Friendship Exchange Council

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here this morning at the Peace Palace a visiting delegation of Japan's Friendship Exchange Council led by Mr. Norio Yamaguchi, Chairman of ASEAN-Japan Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee.

In the meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen informed the Japanese delegation of the country's ongoing reform programme, including the fight against corruption, public administration reform, and legal and judicial reforms, �, said H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian premier.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also laid stress on the government's two new policies namely rice production and export, and industrial development.

The prime minister thus lobbied the Japanese side to encourage more investors to invest in the rice and industrial sectors in Cambodia. He also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Japan for her significant contribution to Cambodia's peace building, reconstruction and development.

For his part, Mr. Norio Yamaguchi briefed the Cambodian premier on the ASEAN-Japan Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee which has been created 33 years ago and whose members are businessmen from some 1,000 companies. He further said the purpose of his visit to Cambodia was to learn more about Cambodia, Samdech Techo Hun Sen's leadership, and Cambodia-Japan bilateral relations.
