Cambodian Council for Youth Development (CCYD) held its first meeting here at Phnom Penh Hotel on Mar. 2 under the presidency of its Vice President H.E. Sok An to approve the action plan for 2016-2018.
Speaking at the meeting's opening ceremony, H.E. Sok An, also a Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers, said the finalisation of the National Action Plan on Youth Development 2016-2018 will not only allow the Cambodian youths across the nation to take part in social activities and play a model role in national development for the younger generation, but also strengthen their capacities.
It is undeniable that capacity building programme during the last 20 years has increased and created many human resources, added H.E. Sok An, continuing that Cambodia does not lack capacities, but needs to enhance and gather capacities to build a society with sustainable development and harmony.
CCYD, led by Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen, is a mechanism to coordinate, assess and assist the royal government on youth development process so that it responds to the Law on Education and the National Policy on Cambodian Youth Development.
